Our purpose

The Elders Council provides folks who have helped to create and build BC's world-class parks system with the opportunity to continue to support it when they retire from full-time park work or advocacy.

Elders Council members participate in action-based project work aimed at ensuring the long-term well-being of BC's world-class parks system.

Membership is free!

BC's Parks History Project

new_history.htmlAt the BC Parks History project, we focus on the hard work of the past on creating BC Parks, and on looking to the future to celebrate all nature spaces in BC!

Our focus is on the 2011 Centennial of BC Parks. We are working to encourage BC Parks to honour BC heroes and to take the opportunity to celebrate the wonderful legacy the provincial park systems has given all British Columbians.

If you want to become involved in the Elders Council History project, please contact Derek Thompson.
